Our YMCA's Y Scholars Program is seeking Camp Leaders to work with kids (K-6th Grade) in our Summer Afterschool Program and Full-Day Camp! You must be available to work June 10 - July 19.
(Training - Week of 6/10) Both full-time and part-time positions are available Typical full-time work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:
30am-5:
00pm Typical part-time work schedule is Monday-Friday, 11:

00pm You will be assigned to work at a school site in Richmond or El Sobrante The Group Leader position will end on July 19.
There may be opportunities to be hired on to join the afterschool program teams for the 2024-2025 school year.

You will work with the team's Site Coordinator to provide academic achievement, physical play, and creativity enrichment opportunities to the kids in our YMCA Y Scholars Program.

About the YMCA Y Scholars Program We work with schools in West Contra Costa and Oakland to create afterschool programming that focus on student enrichment in creativity, academic achievement, and physical play.
Together, we guide underserved children and families to reach their full potential.
Your Leadership Responsibilities Supervise groups of 15-20 students Plan lessons and lead daily activities (academic, enrichment, or physical) Record and track attendance Collaborate with team to create a clean and safe learning environment Your
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age Have completed 48 college units or passed the Instructional Aid (IA) Exam (We will offer IA Exam if the above is not met.
) Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check Have CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire Ideally, you know how to do the following Understand Growth Mindset and lead with a Growth Mindset Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families Organize your time to meet deadlines and submit high-quality work Use creativity to explore new ways to enhance or add to our program Show conscious awareness about yourself and your effect on others Take accountability in any issues and challenges that you are a part of Our Commitment and Your Commitment Compensation:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
